First I use vmware player and created a virtual machine with a winxp install. Second, I ripped the original game CD using alcohol. This creates an image that preserves the special formatting that is necessary because of the SafeDisc copy protection that is used in this talonsoft game.
I mount this image using alcohol since my laptop does not have an optical drive. The vmware player sees the mounted image as a normal cd drive with the original game cd in it.
