Hi there We have the above model, currently running Windows 8. I have had intermittent wireless coneectivity problems with the machine since we bought it last year. It has the intel centrino N105 adapter. I updated driver from the Intel site and it's version is 15.10.5.1.
The machines BIOS version is 2.09. The wireless light indicator is always orange. The power management says that it is on maximum power when plugged in. I have read that there are common connectivity issues with this wireless adpater. My experience is that the connection is slow and constantly requires resetting.
One of the solutions I read somewhere was that I sould buy a wireless dongle! It is drving my crazy. What else can I do or teak toi get this wireless problem working correctly Thanks Kevin. I too have this laptop with the same wireless card, and where my wireless light is also always orange, I've had zero problems with connectivity. So it suggests you may have a problem with your wireless card.
Take your laptop round to a friends home - just to make sure that your router/modem isn't at fault or incompatible. Take your laptop in to your local dealer, who should be able to replace the wireless card for you 3. As you suggested use a wireless USB dongle (like shown below) - this is the cheapest & easiest solution.
I have an ACER Aspire E1-571. From day one, the wireless connection was off and on.barely working sometimes.not working at all eventually. Saw that lots of ACER laptops seem to have wireless issues. Did some research and decided to re-seat the wireless card before buying a new one. Found YouTube video for it. After re-seating the card (by the way, I did notice that the card did not seem to be pushed in all the way).I brought it back up and had good wireless connection.
However.I noticed that the wireless light was still ORANGE. I thought it would have been BLUE. I researched some more and found an archived reply on this website that said.Per the manual for this laptop, the orange light just means that the wireless card is connected. Hope this helps some of you ACER folks.
